On Saturday, May 13th, the Marriott Marquis in downtown Atlanta was buzzing, as sponsors and attendees attended the 17th annual TechBridge Digital Ball. The figurative red carpet boasted an assortment of evening gowns and the tuxedos — including NTT DATA representatives as patrons flooded the cocktail hour and formal dinner reception. The warm energy radiating from the group was both infectious and welcoming, contrasted only by the famous Atlanta weather.

Every year, several of Atlanta’s finest private and corporate citizens show up to support TechBridge, a not-for-profit company that drives community impact by bringing affordable technology and business expertise to other non-profits. Through fundraising and working with corporations such as NTT DATA Services, TechBridge is able to support non-profits in alleviating poverty for millions of people.

NTT DATA Services may look like a new player, but as the former Dell Services, we have sponsored TechBridge for several years. 

“Innovation spans beyond coming up with the latest technology solution for customers in the B2B and B2C space,” said Doug Reeder, Office of the CTO, “It’s about improving the community we live in, quality of life, and enabling people to advance inside and outside the corporate footprint.”

At the Digital Ball, two non-profits benefit from community support. Live crowdfunding conducted during the evening reception helps one recipient, while another is awarded the Technology Innovation Award sponsored by Accenture. This year, Wellspring Living, an organization committed to helping domestic sex trafficking victims and others at risk, as well as Gideon’s Promise, whose mission is to transform the criminal justice system by creating a movement of public defenders providing equal justice for marginalized communities, will benefit from event funding.

Technology investments in non-profits like Wellspring Living and Gideon’s Promise makes a difference in the quality of engagement they have with the underserved. Whether it is accurate data collation and segmentation to obtain insight in preventative measures for victims, or to provide access to better representation for the poor in the justice system, the outreach demonstrated is invaluable to those who make up the diverse community, as well as the very corporations that contribute.

Parshant Dhiman, VP, Head of Financial Services Sales at NTT DATA Services joined the TechBridge Digital Ball for the first time.

When asked to expound on his fresh perspective of the cause he said, “The core of what we are about at NTT DATA is to simplify and improve how to approach the complex. That mission is not restricted by why or for whom we endeavor to enable. It is merely driven by a commitment to excellence. When the wider community benefits, when we can empower even one person to focus on their passion to help people instead of dealing with constant hiccups in the administrative process, we are collectively able to positively contribute to the very society that we live in.”

NTT DATA employees are not only focused on developing the latest services solutions to enable client business goals, but are also encouraged to engage in charities and local communities as part of NTT DATA’s CSR program.
