New York, NY - February 22, 2012 – NTT DATA Americas, a leading IT professional services provider and a regional operating unit of the Japan-based NTT DATA Corporation, today announced it has been named a “Leader” and a “Major Player” by IDC Health Insights in two separate reports analyzing IT Services providers.  In the research firm’s comprehensive report, IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Life Science Manufacturing and Supply Chain IT Outsourcing 2011 Vendor Assessment (Document # HI231819, December 2011), NTT DATA Americas was described as a Leader and was also positioned by IDC as a Major Player in a separate report on life sciences sales and marketing called IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Life Science Sales and Marketing IT Outsourcing 2011Vendor Assessment (Document #HI231228, November 2011). Both documents were authored by IDC Health Insights program director Eric Newmark.

IDC MarketScape reports identify factors for success in a particular market and then assess vendors participating in the market against those factors. The evaluation is based on qualitative and quantitative metrics, as well as end-user feedback, and provides readers with vendor market positioning relative to or compared with other market participants.

“We have more than 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, medical device and biotech industries.  Our customers benefit from this expertise to further enhance their operations, improve quality, and reduce risk,” said Michael Thomas, president of healthcare & life sciences at NTT DATA, Inc. “We are committed to long-term relationships with our customers and always strive to automate, simplify and improve the quality of manufacturing and supply chain tasks, which are critical elements to life sciences companies.”

About IDC MarketScape
IDC MarketScape vendor analysis model is designed to provide an overview of the competitive fitness of ICT (information and communications technology) suppliers in a given market. The research methodology utilizes a rigorous scoring methodology based on both qualitative and quantitative criteria that results in a single graphical illustration of each vendor’s position within a given market. IDC MarketScape provides a clear framework in which the product and service offerings, capabilities and strategies, and current and future market success factors of IT and telecommunications vendors can be meaningfully compared.
